About this file

This Statement of Need (SoN) details a wire purchase requirement for Offutt Air Force Base. The project calls for procuring 1,500 linear feet of #4/0 15KV 133% EPR tape shielded 220mil wire, with specific cuts at 500 ft, along with 9 indoor termination kits including stranded shield adapter kits and two-hole crimp terminals. The wire is Type MV-105 cable designed for aerial, direct burial, and underground duct installations, capable of operating at conductor temperatures up to 105°C under normal conditions, 140°C for emergency overload, and 250°C for short circuit conditions.

The technical specifications require an annealed uncoated copper compact stranded conductor, extruded semiconducting EPR strand and insulation screens, and a 5 mil bare copper tape shield with 12.5% nominal overlap. The wire must meet multiple industry standards including ICEA, NEMA, AEIC, CSA, and UL requirements. Delivery is specified to Offutt AFB at 106 Peacekeeper Dr., Building 301, with the contractor required to provide a manufacturer's warranty on the equipment. No alterations to the specifications are permitted without prior approval from the government Project Manager and Procuring Contract Officer.
