Variant Aircraft Engine Inlet Covers Requirement Per Tail
STATEMENT OF NEED:
55 MXG needs new engine inlet covers specific to each Variant tail number. It is a requirement that 55 AMXS maintains -21 equipment such as engine inlet covers. In an effort to modernize our current -21 equipment, the below request is forwarded for consideration. These new engine inlet covers will out-fit the entire -135 Variant fleet. Additionally, these new engine inlet covers will highlight unit pride during high visibility events such as airshows, exercises, DV tours, etc.
Requirements per Variant -135 Aircraft Tail #:
COBRA BALL:
Aircraft 61-2662: Set of 4x Blue engine inlet covers (tambourine type) with 2-way collapsible padded 1 inch metal tubing around circumference. Dimensions of engine inlet cover: Overall diameter is 78 inches with two each 7 inch attachment flanges. The COBRA BALL insignia (attached) in the middle of the engine inlet cover. The Tail Number should curve around the top of the inlet cover while “COBRA BALL” curves to the bottom in White letters. A “center square” that is perforated to allow laminar air flow has dimensions of 31 inches wide by 33 inches tall. Storage bags for each inlet cover also required.
Aircraft 61-2663: Set of 4x Blue engine inlet covers (tambourine type) with 2-way collapsible padded 1 inch metal tubing around circumference. COMBAT SENT:
Aircraft 64-4849: Set of 4x Black engine inlet covers (tambourine type) with 2-way collapsible padded 1 inch metal tubing around circumference. Dimensions of engine inlet cover: Overall diameter is 78 inches with two each 7 inch attachment flanges. The COMBAT SENT insignia (attached) in the middle of the engine inlet cover. The Tail Number should curve around the top of the inlet cover while “MANY ARE CALLED….FEW ARE SENT” curves to the bottom in Red letters. A “center square” that is perforated to allow laminar air flow has dimensions of 31 inches wide by 33 inches tall. Storage bags for each inlet cover also required.
