About this file
This is a Solicitation Addendum issued by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (DAC) for a Fire Extinguisher Inspections and Maintenance contract, identified by Solicitation Number 52-IFB-1677593221-JJC. The addendum modifies the original solicitation by extending the bid opening date from Wednesday, October 15, 2025, to Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. The document includes responses to vendor questions regarding fire suppression systems in various facilities, with the state acknowledging that specific details about system types, number of fusible links, and maintenance requirements are not centrally recorded and would require individual facility contact.
The addendum indicates that most fire suppression systems are likely ANSUL, but neither the Safety Office nor DECM maintains detailed records at the component level. The state has extended the bid due date to allow prospective bidders to contact listed facilities or spot-check information about fire suppression system components, such as actuation cartridges, fusible links, nozzle o-rings, and nozzle caps. Vendors are advised that specific information about system types, number of links, and maintenance needs will require direct communication with individual facility maintenance personnel.
