About this file

This is a Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clause template titled 52.225-18 Place of Manufacture, effective August 2018, prescribed for insertion into solicitations per FAR 25.1101(f).

The clause requires offerors to indicate for statistical purposes whether the place of manufacture of end products they expect to provide is predominantly in the United States or outside the United States. "Manufactured end product" is defined as any end product in product and service codes (PSCs) 1000-9999, with specific exclusions for lumber, agricultural supplies, live animals, subsistence items, crude grades of plant materials, crude animal products, crude agricultural and forestry products, ores, minerals, and additive metal materials. "Place of manufacture" is defined as the location where an end product is assembled from components or otherwise made or processed from raw materials into the finished product provided to the Government, with the clarification that reassembly does not constitute the original place of manufacture. Offerors must check one of two boxes indicating whether the total anticipated price of end products manufactured in the United States exceeds the total anticipated price of those manufactured outside the United States. This clause is a statistical reporting requirement only and does not establish procurement preferences or restrictions.
