About this file

This Addendum Number One, dated October 6, 2026, modifies the original contract documents for the Galva Canal Classroom Expansion project at Southeastern Louisiana University, with the architect of record being Gasaway Gasaway Bankston Architects. The addendum clarifies project requirements including specifications for pressure-treated framing lumber, T-1-11 interior finish sheathing, timber pile treatments (0.80 CCA minimum), and data infrastructure reconnection requirements. The document adds specifications for aluminum storefronts and provides sketches for window types and stair post foundations. Key clarifications establish that the project is tax-exempt, prevailing wage is not required, maritime and small craft insurance are not required, and load tests for pilings are not required. The addendum updates the use and occupancy classification to NFPA 2015 Chapter 39 Existing Business and IBC 2021 Section 304 Business Group B. Southeastern Louisiana University is responsible for removing movable items prior to work commencement, with contractors responsible for removing any remaining items as debris.

The aluminum storefront specifications require one manufacturer providing either Kawneer System, Vistawall System, EFCO Corp., or equivalent systems, with exterior storefronts specified as 2" x 4-1/2" aluminum framing (Kawneer Trifab 451 or Vistawall equal) and interior storefronts as 1-3/4" x 4-1/2" with 3/8" tempered glass. All glass must be tempered safety glass, with aluminum finishes specified as Kawneer Permanodic AA-M12C22A31, AAMA 611, Architectural Class 1, clear anodic coating in #14 Clear. The document provides prior approvals for lighting fixtures from manufacturers including Day-Brite, Gardco, and Emergi-Lite. Contractors must comply with manufacturer installation instructions, set all units plumb and level, and provide weathertight construction with proper material separation to prevent corrosion.
