About this file
This document is Addendum No. 1, dated November 13, 2025, for the Leesville Roof Replacement project at Northwestern State University (NSU) located at 3329 University Parkway, Leesville, Louisiana 71446. The addendum modifies the original contract documents for a roof replacement project involving demolition of existing shingles and sheet metal accessories, followed by installation of new roofing materials. The project requires contractors to hold a Louisiana State Contractor's License for classifications in Roofing & Sheet Metal and Siding. The pre-bid conference was held on November 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the project site, with bid submissions due on November 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM to the Northwestern Purchasing Division at St. Denis Hall, 200 Sam Sibley Drive, Natchitoches, Louisiana 71497. The project involves 75 consecutive construction days with liquidated damages set at $250 per day for delays. Prior manufacturer approvals must be submitted seven working days before bid opening.
Key modifications in the addendum include approved manufacturer substitutes for self-adhering underlayment, synthetic underlayment, and 24-gauge prefinished metal products from GAF, CertainTeed, McElroy, Pac Clad, and Berridge. The Performance, Maintenance and Payment Bond must include a sealed Power of Attorney. Shingle installation must be accomplished by hand-driven nails only, with no pneumatic installation permitted. CertainTeed Landmark Pro Laminate Shingles are specified as the basis of design. The contractor must include 5% of total decking costs in the base bid and install 24-gauge hot-dipped galvanized steel drip edge. Pipe penetrations require neoprene "Bullet Boot" fully encased boots. The contractor is responsible for providing fencing to secure stored materials in a designated parking lot section, with roof access from the building exterior only. The owner will provide water and power; the contractor must supply telephone and portable restroom services. Two bid alternates are offered: Alternate No. 1 for fascia and soffit replacement and Alternate No. 2 for underlayment upgrade.
