Statement of Work below

C.1 Introduction/Overview In support of its law enforcement investigative mission the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Investigation (CI) Division has a need to purchase Berla iVe that includes software licenses, support, and a 36-month contract as detailed in Section 3 Scope.

C.2 Background Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation (CI) is the law enforcement arm of the Internal Revenue Service. CI is charged with the enforcement of the federal income tax statutes. CI's top priority is the investigation of violations of the federal income tax law. Additionally, CI special agents lend their financial investigative expertise to money laundering and narcotics investigations conducted in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal levels. Digital Forensics (DF) is responsible for the acquisition, processing, and analysis of digital evidence related to ongoing criminal investigations.

Berla’s iVe software product line is used by CI and other law enforcement and military agencies to capture data in a forensically safe manner from vehicles. iVe Software is a one-of-a-kind forensic tool which handles a wide variety of automobiles, so it can be thought of as a standard piece of equipment in any forensic toolkit. iVe is highly specialized and is continually updated by Berla Corporation to address infotainment and telematics systems which includes navigation and geolocation data, vehicle behavior events (both system and driver/passenger interactions), velocity logs, and connected device data. There are no other tools available on the market to capture data from vehicles in a forensic manner.
