About this file
This document is an Emergency Procurement Form for the City of Santa Fe, Department of Community Services regarding emergency repairs to the ice rink compressors at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center. The scope of work includes rebuilding and repairing the failed compressors to restore ice rink functionality. The contractor, Arena Products and Services, will provide all necessary labor and parts for the $117,590 contract with a term of August 26, 2024 to September 9, 2024. The emergency procurement is justified due to the equipment failure that has rendered the ice rink inoperable, presenting a serious threat to property. The City is unable to complete a competitive process in the timeframe required, and will implement measures to prevent future emergency procurements, including a quarterly maintenance plan and staff training.
The pricing for the repairs includes a planned maintenance agreement with four annual visits to inspect and maintain the refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems for the 17,000 square foot ice arena. Additional expenses may be incurred for any work outside the agreed scope. The City is required to post this emergency procurement to the State Purchasing Division and City of Santa Fe websites.
