About this file

This document outlines the Salient Characteristics for an Enterprise IT and Cyber Workforce Development Training Platform being sought by the 4th Reconnaissance Squadron (4RS), a U.S. Air Force organization.

The 4RS requires a comprehensive online training platform with six primary capability areas. The platform must provide hands-on practical training through virtual lab environments accessible via web browser, including scenario-based exercises simulating real operational environments and cybersecurity challenge activities such as Capture the Flag style exercises. The platform must offer structured learning paths with clearly defined beginner, intermediate, and advanced training tracks, with curriculum covering network technologies and cloud services. Certification preparation capabilities are required, including comprehensive exam-aligned training content, practice exams and assessment questions, and coverage for certifications such as CCNA/CCNP and cybersecurity certifications. The platform must include organizational management and reporting tools to track employee progress, manage training, and analyze performance metrics. Both live, interactive training sessions and on-demand video training must be supported. Finally, the platform must be web-based with browser access requiring no local installation, operable within the NIPRNET network environment, and compliant with Department of Defense cybersecurity and data protection standards.
