a. 3.8.3 Batteries ‐ Hood‐mounted OEM batteries acceptable

3. SIN 240L Light Duty Shuttle Low‐Floor
a. 3.7.2 Driveshaft – Driveshaft standards are only applicable to FWD vehicles
b. 3.14.4 Driver’s Area – Telescoping steering wheels allowed
4. SINs 241N‐247 Light Duty Shuttle Basic
a. 3.1.2 Body Construction ‐ The body shall have a metal cage‐type frame with welded joints. The frame itself shall not be held together by rivets or adhesives.
b. 3.1.7 Body Exterior Width – Overall width measurements indicated in
AutoStandards shall be from the outermost body surfaces. Flared wheel wells do not count as a body surface for the purposes of this measurement.
c. 3.4 Engine Accessories – Removed requirement for high idle control

5. SINs 341N‐347 Light Duty Shuttle Bus
a. 3.1.2 Body Construction ‐ The body shall have a metal cage‐type frame with welded joints. The frame itself shall not be held together by rivets or adhesives.

6. SINs 359W‐363W Medium Duty Shuttle Bus
a. 3.18.1 Driver’s Seat – Added exception to standard: If the OEM does not allow the replacement of OEM seats due to safety reasons, the driver’s seat does not need to meet all the specifications in this section. During the first article inspection, we will require documentation from the OEM which supports your claim. The features that are missing from the seat will also need to be indicated on the clarifications tab.
7. SINs 396‐397 Heavy Duty Intercity Commuter Coach
a. 3.6.2 Air Brakes – Air tanks allowed to have ¼‐turn ball valve drain or spring‐loaded manual pull valve
b. 3.8.1 Electrical System ‐ Wiring shall be routed in conduit or high temperature looms with a rating of 300°F in areas exposed to high temperatures (i.e. engine compartment)
c. 3.8.3 Batteries – Spliced cables now allowed in certain areas
d. 3.14.5 Interior Mirror – Minimum area changed to 57 square inches
8. SIN 398 Heavy Duty Over the Road Touring Coach
a. 3.1.11 Insulation ‐ Insulation shall fill cavities between bows
b. 3.6.2 Air Brakes – Air tanks allowed to have ¼‐turn ball valve drain or spring‐loaded manual pull valve
c. 3.8.1 Electrical System ‐ Wiring shall be routed in conduit or high temperature looms with a rating of 300°F in areas exposed to high temperatures (i.e. engine compartment)
d. 3.8.3 Batteries – Spliced cables now allowed in certain areas
e. 3.14.5 Interior Mirror – Minimum area changed to 57 square inches
f. 3.15.1 Floor Construction – Removed requirement for epoxy paint seal

g. 3.15.6 Lavatory ‐ Manufacturer’s standard forced ventilation enclosure and towelette or waterless gel dispenser for hand sanitizing.
9. Appendix A – Options Specifications
a. Renewed outdated formatting to match the style of the other standards
b. Addition of Table of Options
c. BFST– BARRIER–FULL HEIGHT–TRANSLUCENT ‐ The barrier may be partially padded, but only up to the height where it has no effect on the driver’s visibility or protection.
d. New Option: CLV – CEILING – LIGHT – VINYL ‐ Requires ceiling to be covered with medium gray or white vinyl.
e. FFP – HEATER–COOLANT–FUEL FIRED ‐ The minimum specification varies based on the standard fuel for the SIN:
i. SINs with GAS standard: Minimum 17k BTU
ii. SINs with DIESEL standard: Minimum 40k BTU
f. FSS– FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM ‐ The fire detector(s) shall be optical infrared (IR), thermally operated linear (LTD) type, or spot type thermal sensor.
g. HDAC – HEAVY DUTY AIR CONDITIONING ‐ Espar AC350 Integrated Roof
Top air conditioner requirement changed to model AC33. Bitzer 4NFCY compressor allowed in addition to Bock FK40‐655K.
h. RM6– MIRRORS–EXTERIOR REARVIEW HEATED REMOTE – Removed requirement for pictograms
i. SICS– SEAT–CHILD SEAT–INTEGRATED–SCHOOL BUS ‐ HSM NextGen with
Child Restraints Seat allowed
j. New Option: WPPO– WINDOW–PASSENGER–PUSH OUT ‐ Requires manufacturer’s largest available push out windows to replace the standard equipment windows. The window glass shall be tinted and tempered or tinted and laminated safety glass.

1. 241.5, 341.5 ‐ SENATOR ‐ GVWR Changed to 14500, Rear axle 9600
2. 321A.1, 322A.1, 336A.1, 338A.1 – CE – Driver’s seat changed to “National”
