Amendment 0001. Questions and Answers:
A. Questions and Answers:
1) Designated work hours are between 7am-5pm but with any work needing performed overhead people can’t be in the vicinity as it’s a liability. Not to mention the products smell. Can work be performed after hours and over the weekend when closed? If not, can the area be closed off during construction?
ANSWER: The area will be closed off during the project duration. Note requirement in Sections 8 and 9 of Statement of Work for Construction IAQ Management Plan to address indoor air quality.
2) Where stated in SOW to skim coat 500 square feet of damaged ceiling is that the total square footage of the ceiling that is to be repaired and painted or is that just a section of the entire ceiling?
ANSWER: The 500 sq feet is an estimated amount of total area, the damage is not in one specific location. See pictures below for example of damage. Contractor to verify all measurements.
3) It’s also stated that 2160 square footage of ceiling and walls is to be painted the same color to match. So is it the ceiling and all the walls in courtroom 1 that’ll be painted? If so, how many colors?
ANSWER: Ceiling and walls above woodwork in Courtroom 1 will all be painted same color. See pictures below.
4) Where will listed furniture need to be relocated to?
ANSWER: There is space on the same floor where furniture will be stored, see plan below.
5) The Focus of the project, as stated, is to repair damaged areas and prevent further cracking.
Repairing cracked and pealing plaster and paint is manageable but guaranteeing the prevention of further cracking is not possible. The building will continue to settle, shift, and move, inevitably cracking will occur again as it has in the past. Whenever you deal with organic construction materials, wood sheetrock plaster ectera, there will always be expansion and contraction from hot and cold temperatures. Are we expected to warranty against cracking all the same?
ANSWER: Reference FAR clause 52.246-21, Warranty of Construction, for warranty information.
6) Could pictures or rough dimensions be provided for the majority of us that can’t make the site visit. For a project of this scale pictures would go a long way to providing accurate estimates.
ANSWER: Room is approximately 47’ x 37’ x 19’. See pictures below.
