Courtroom III Refresh | RFI’s

▪ The west wall of the courtroom has a trim section bowing around the acoustical panels. Is the contractor to plan on fixing this piece? Depending on funds and not declared in SOW.

▪ Will the GSA provide temporary storage for benches, jury seating, and other furniture items?

o Benches and jury seating can be temporarily stored in the hallway as long as egress is not impeded.

▪ Is the contractor expected to install nosing on steps throughout the courtroom?

Yes. Contractor’s discretion. But samples will have to be approved by the courts.

▪ Does the GSA have a timeline for this project?

o Ex. Is the contractor expected to finish the work in one mobilization while coordinating all work to take place?

▪ One mobilization is preferred. Intent is for the GC to have all materials in hand prior to starting. This will limit downtime on the courtroom.

o Will the courtroom be shut down for the entire duration if that is the case? Yes

▪ Project Objectives : Item 8 – Calls for repainting of ceilings in conference rooms.

o Is the intent to paint up to the acoustical panel in the ceiling? Will these panels need to be replaced as part of the scope of work?

▪ The conference rooms have gypsum ceilings. These ceilings will be painted the same color as the walls. The ceiling behind the judge’s bench will also be painted the same color as the walls.

▪ Project Objectives : Item 10 – Install new transition strips to new carpet where required?

o Can the GSA provide sample materials or is it at the contractor’s discretion to match the carpet best as possible?

▪ Contractor’s discretion. But samples will have to be approved by the courts.

▪ Would a like similar product for the acoustical panels be acceptable?

o Use the fabric specified in the SOW.
