Elevator Modernization Project at Ted Weiss Federal Office Building at 290 Broadway
47PC0318R0004
RFI Responses as of 4/11/18
RFI1: Can you please confirm if the elevator maintenance is being bid with the modernization work?
Response1: The building maintenance contractor (LCOR) will remain responsible for maintenance and operation of elevators that remain in operation (in service) and will be responsible for all elevators when this elevator project is complete.
RFI2: s setting this effort aside for an SDVOSB elevator company under consideration as you perform Market Research?
Response2: After consideration, the requirement will remain full and open to all businesses. We encourage all SDVOSB and other small businesses to submit proposals.
RFI3: Yesterday I downloaded the documents for this project from the FBO website. It contained drawings, access flooring spec and and a 206 page Project manual specification but I could not find the specifications for the various trades involved such as Vertical transportation, Electrical HVAC, Fire sprinkler etc. They are listed in the index of the project manual but are not contained in the manual. I know they exist because I have them from the original bid from back in December 2017. I need these current specification as soon as possible in order to get this out to my sub-contractors as soon as possible. Please advise.
Response3: The full specification package has been uploaded to the FBO.gov notice.
RFI4: Page 7 of the Solicitation, Technical Qualifications, Experience on Elevator Modernization Projects, states to provide 3 projects with a minimum construction cost of $3m. We understand this to mean total construction value, not just the value of the elevator portion of the work. Please confirm.
Response4: Confirmed that the $3 million threshold is for the total construction value, not solely the elevator portion of those projects.
RFI5: An information sheet was handed out at the site visit which states 1 project must have a minimum value of $3m and 2 projects with no minimum cost involving "modernization or new construction". Does Modernization or New Construction refer only to the elevator portion of the project or to the total construction value (GC work)?
Response5: The information sheet issued at the site visit was for informational purposes only and does not supersede or replace the requirements in the solicitation. On page seven (7) of the revised solicitation states that similar projects include "Major modernization or new construction of elevators...". The government will be looking for modernization or new construction of elevators rather than general modernization or construction work.
RFI6: Will you be incorporating the handout by Amendment to replace the requirements provided in the
RFP?
Response6: The information sheet issued at the site visit was for informational purposes only and does not supersede or replace the requirements in the solicitation. It will not be incorporated into the solicitation
