47PB0020Q0002 Amendment 0003 August 25, 2020
The following are the questions received during the Q&A period. The Government’s responses are annotated in red. The due date remains unchanged.
1. “The Contractor shall test the firefighters’ service recall system for each elevator on a monthly basis according to all the requirements of A17.1.” Will this be required at all locations? If so will it be conducted on regular time (7:00AM-5:00PM) or overtime hours?
All elevators and locations that have Fire Service Operation will need to be tested monthly. Testing should be completed during regular business hours.
2. Is overtime also required for the monthly fire service testing referenced in the bid and is that for the entire portfolio or specific units?
See question 1 and the Government’s response above.
3. The solicitation references that overtime testing is required, but it is unclear if this is for entire portfolio or specific units within the portfolio
Full load drop testing should be completed after business hours.
4. I was wondering if there was any historical data available. Specifically I was looking for results from previous bids.
The Government will not be providing historical data from previous bids as part of this solicitation.
5. Are you able to provide what the current pricing is on this contract?
The Government will not be providing current pricing data under this solicitation.
6. Are all CAT 5 tests required to be done on off hours
When elevators are loaded and dropped that should be after hours. If there are non disruptive portions of the test that can be done during regular hours
7. Are these units under federal jurisdiction and tested with a QEI? Or do they need to also abide by state requirements, with the Massachusetts DPS for example.
All units are in federal buildings and will be inspected and tested using a Qualified Elevator Inspector. They are not inspected and tested using state requirements.
