The project involves furnishing, installing, maintaining, and removing temporary traffic control measures; installing temporary pedestrian facilities including curb ramp devices, audible direction devices, and longitudinal channelizing devices; and performing ditch cleaning work. Sealed paper bids were to be received at DOTD District 62 Design Office in Hammond, Louisiana, until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The project engineer is Brett Pounds (985-893-6223) and the project manager is Jennifer Branton. Contract completion is required within 65 working days following a 30-calendar-day assembly period, with no lane closures allowed on LA 433 between 7:00-9:00 a.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m. on weekdays. All work must comply with the 2026 Louisiana Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges.

The estimated project cost ranges from $500,000 to $1,000,000. Bids are only accepted from contractors licensed for Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction; Heavy Construction; Earthwork, Drainage, and Levees; or Culverts and Drainage Structures. A bid bond equal to five percent of the total bid amount is required. The project is not designated for payment adjustments for asphalt cements, fuels, or steel. Contractors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including Workers Compensation with $1,000,000 employer liability for work over water, Commercial General Liability, Owner's and Contractor's Protective (OCP) liability, and Business Automobile Liability with limits based on contract amount per Table 107.2-1. The Department will reimburse actual OCP insurance costs directly without markup. Sales and use taxes are exempt for purchases related to project work. The contractor must assign an authorized Traffic Control Supervisor and may assign Traffic Control Technicians to manage traffic control throughout the project duration.
