About this file
This is a Packaging Requirements document (AFMC Form 158) for a federal contract opportunity under Purchase Instrument Number FD20302600129-01. The document specifies military packaging and marking standards for two line items (4820003373943RK and 4820DTH260153RK) being procured by the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), specifically the 406 Supply Chain Management System organization.
The primary packaging requirement mandates compliance with MIL-STD-2073-1 (Revision E) for military packaging and MIL-STD-129 (Revision R) for military marking. All wood packaging material (WPM)—including pallets, skids, load boards, wooden boxes, reels, dunnage, crates, and frames—must be constructed from debarked, heat-treated wood heated to 56 degrees Celsius (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes, with certification/marking by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee per International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15). Packaging is classified as MIL Long Line Packaging at Preservation Level MIL, Packaging Level B. Shipping containers must bear markings per MIL-STD-129 standards and may include additional requirements such as unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer names, or model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. The packaging specialist assigned is Richard R. Davis (405-371-9037 / 582-5972), with the requirements document signed and dated 30 March 2026.
