About this file

This document is a Packaging Requirements specification for a federal contract (Purchase Instrument Number FD20302601002-00, Version 1) issued by the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) under the organization 406 SCMS/GULAA.

The specification establishes mandatory packaging and marking standards for item 4320013739079FW in compliance with MIL-STD-2073-1 (Revision E) and MIL-STD-129 (Revision R). A critical requirement addresses United Nations-implemented restrictions on wood packaging material (WPM), including wood pallets, skids, load boards, pallet collars, wooden boxes, reels, dunnage, crates, frames, and cleats. All wooden materials must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes, with certification and marking required by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC). Vendors must reference International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15) for detailed compliance guidance. Shipping containers must comply with MIL-STD-129 marking standards and may require additional markings or bar coding such as unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) names, or OEM model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. The packaging specialist is Richard R. Davis, contactable at 405-371-9037 or 582-5972, and the specification was signed on 09 MAR 2026.
