About this file

This document is a Packaging Requirements Report (AFMC Form 158) for a military contract opportunity involving repair services for a Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) Receiver-Transmitter. The report details specific packaging and marking requirements for wooden packaging materials, mandating that all wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade for 30 minutes. Certification by an American Lumber Standards Committee-accredited agency is required.

The packaging instructions specify compliance with MIL-STD-2073-1 for military packaging and MIL-STD-129 for shipping and storage markings. The document covers two specific items: NSN 5826015536528HL and 5826DTL2500B8HL, with detailed specifications for unit packaging, including weight, dimensions, and cube measurements. The packaging specialist is Jason B. Kerr from the 406 SCMS organization, with contact information provided, and the document was generated on 22 January 2025 for a contract related to repairing a TACAN Receiver-Transmitter in support of TH-1H helicopter training at Fort Novosel, AL.
