About this file
This is an Addendum to a sealed bid solicitation issued by Nunez Community College in Chalmette, Louisiana (St. Bernard Parish) for comprehensive grounds maintenance services. The addendum addresses six clarifying questions submitted by prospective bidders regarding the scope of work, which includes basic lawn service, landscape maintenance, chemical applications to landscape beds and ornamental plants, irrigation monitoring, pine needle mulch application, and tree pruning. Bids are due September 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST, with public opening and reading of bids to occur in the Administration Conference Room on the first floor of the Administration Building. A mandatory site visit was scheduled for September 9-10, 2026, with bidders required to contact Mike Pritchard at 504-228-2136 to schedule attendance. The contract term is fixed-price for three years with two optional one-year renewal periods, with all services priced on a per-visit basis based on an estimated 40 lawn cuts per year.
Key clarifications in the addendum address bid submission methodology, permitted materials, campus access, and operational hours. Bidders should base fixed-price bids on 40 annual cuts rather than the 30-40 range cited in the original scope. Plant-tolerable chemicals are permitted in flower beds, but Roundup and similar herbicides are prohibited; fertilizers may be used if they do not harm plants. A campus map showing irrigation system locations (circled in red) was provided as an attachment. Bidders are permitted to use on-campus dumpsters during normal hours of operation (Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. CST, Friday 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. CST) and extended summer hours (Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. CST), with facilities closed weekends and Friday-Sunday during summer.
