About this file

This file describes the salient characteristics for a 400-500w amplifier purchase by the Range Management Office. The amplifier must be a wideband GaN solid-state, spatial combining RF power amplifier in the 400-500w range with a bias card and cable. It must have solid state MMIC reliability, multi-element redundancy, and instant on capability without warmup. Storage temperature must be -40 to +85 C, with recommended operating drain voltage of 28v, quiescent drain current of 10.4A, operating drain current of 72A, and operating temperature of -40 to +75 C. Electrical specifications include an operating frequency of 8.0 to 11.0 GHz, saturated output power and power-added efficiency of greater than 57dBm and 33.8% respectively, power gain of 20.3dB, small-signal gain of 26.6dB, and input/output return loss and intermodulation distortion within specified ranges. The unit weighs 12.0 lbs and has dimensions of 9.4 x 5.5 x 5.0 inches.

The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number FA488723Q0048 for an RF power amplifier from 400-500w for the Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command.
