About this file
This document is an Emergency Determination Form from the City of Santa Fe (CoSF) for the repair of ice rink compressors at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC). The primary objective is to repair the compressors to prevent the ice from melting, as two of the four compressors are currently non-functional due to equipment failure. The emergency procurement is necessary to address this critical situation and restore the ice rink's operation as quickly as possible. The contract is for $42,209.02 and covers the period from June 21, 2024 to July 26, 2024. There is only one contractor, Travers Mechanical, available to complete the necessary repairs.
The document also includes two proposals from Travers Mechanical for additional work on the ice rink chillers. The first proposal is for $21,539.13 to replace a failed shaft seal on Chiller #2, and the second proposal is for $11,306.51 to replace relief valves on Chiller #3. Additionally, a $8,700.00 proposal is included for diagnostic work on the ice rink chillers. The City of Santa Fe has identified the need to replace the HVAC units in the ice arena and implement a quarterly maintenance plan to prevent similar emergencies in the future.
