About this file
Summary
This is a specifications document for a 4 Ton Vibratory Asphalt Drum Roller procurement in Maine. The specification details the technical requirements and performance standards for a single vibratory roller unit suitable for asphalt compaction applications. The document establishes minimum operational capabilities, including drum vibration frequency, compaction force, travel speed, and fuel capacity requirements. Key specifications address engine performance, hydraulic system standards, operator controls, and safety features necessary for highway and municipal road construction and maintenance work.
The specifications emphasize durability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards for heavy equipment operation. Equipment must meet environmental emissions standards and include standard features such as water spray systems for drum cooling, adjustable vibratory frequency, and operator comfort provisions. The document serves as the procurement baseline to ensure bidders understand the exact equipment configuration and performance criteria required, with particular attention to compaction effectiveness, fuel efficiency, and long-term operational reliability in Maine's climate and road construction conditions.
