About this file

This is a Specifications document issued by the City of Yuma, Arizona Procurement Division for Request for Bid (RFB) RFB-26-287, dated August 2023, for the Kitchen Remodel project at Fire Station No. 2 and Fire Station No. 5. The scope of work includes demolition of existing kitchen cabinetry, fabrication and installation of new commercial-grade laminate cabinets with Wilsonart 7960K18 Studio Teak finish, installation of new Type 304 stainless-steel countertops at Fire Station 5 only, painting of repaired wall surfaces, and coordination with City Facilities for temporary removal and reinstallation of existing fixtures and appliances. The project must accommodate 24/7 fire station operations with a maximum five-day kitchen shutdown. Cabinet construction shall feature 3/4" plywood or high-density particleboard with thermally fused melamine interior, high-pressure plastic laminate finish on exposed surfaces, 3mm PVC edge banding, heavy-duty commercial-grade hardware matching Fire Station No. 7 style, and adjustable shelving. All new stainless-steel countertops at Fire Station 5 must be 16-gauge minimum thickness with tight, smooth seams. Existing sinks, faucets, stainless-steel countertops at Fire Station 2, flooring, and appliances shall remain in place and be protected during construction.

The specifications establish minimum standards for products and services, with references to specific manufacturers and models indicating quality benchmarks rather than exclusive requirements. Contractors must field-verify appliance dimensions to ensure proper clearances and compatibility with new cabinetry and countertops. All plumbing and electrical disconnections and reconnections will be performed by City Facilities Management, while contractors are responsible for daily debris removal, final surface cleaning to move-in ready condition, and coordination with City Facilities and Fire staff for scheduling and timing. The document does not specify pricing terms, set-asides, response dates, or award information within the specifications provided.
