About this file
This is a Drug-Free Workplace Certification form required by the City of Tallahassee, Florida for the Pension and Non-Pension Investment Consultant Services solicitation (RFP-111-25-KM). The certification establishes compliance requirements for businesses bidding on commodities or contractual services under Florida Statute Section 287.087. Bidders must certify implementation of a drug-free workplace program as a condition of contract award. The form requires authorized representatives to confirm that their firm has published a workplace drug prohibition statement, informed employees of drug abuse dangers and company policy, distributed the statement to all relevant employees, notified employees of the five-day reporting requirement for drug convictions, imposed sanctions or required participation in rehabilitation programs for violations, and made a good faith effort to maintain a drug-free workplace environment.
According to Florida law, when two or more bids are equal in price, quality, and service, preference shall be given to businesses that certify a drug-free workplace program. The certification statement must be signed by an authorized company representative and submitted with the bid response. False statements in the certification are punishable under law. This document serves as a prerequisite compliance requirement rather than a pricing or service specification document, and all prospective bidders for this City of Tallahassee investment consultant services contract must complete and return the form to be considered for award.
