CATEGORY 6 NETWORK DROP INSTALLATION1301366558

1.0 BACKGROUND

1.1 The Naval Leadership and Ethics Command (NLEC) Dam Neck provides training to Officers, Command Master Chiefs, Petty Officers, and Chief Petty Officers in all facets of leadership. Currently in support of our mission, our staff has grown beyond our available data ports for accessing hardline internet connectivity within our office building, 502. We have 66 billets assigned to NLEC Dam Neck requiring data connectivity, and an additional requirement for at least 3 printer data ports, with only 55 active data ports available currently. This contract will satisfy minimum requirements, with some additional to allow for future maintenance issues and billet turnover flexibility.

2.0 OBJECTIVE

2.1 NLEC Dam Neck requires the installation of an additional 20 data ports in office building 502 to support admin and personnel functions required for facilitation and travel.

2.2 The infrastructure for additional ports already exists and new installation will utilize existing phone line outlets and cableways. Old phone lines will be replaced with Category 6 Network cabling and drops. These additional drops will greatly increase connection speed and work output by reducing reliance on mobile Wi-Fi PUCs as a primary connection source for personnel without hardline connections to NMCI.

3.0 SCOPE OF WORK

3.1 NLEC requires a quantity of 20 NIPR Category 6 network drops to be installed and all associated blue cabling run to the network drop. SMCIS will provide all cabling needed and install the 20 new Category 6 NIPR drops in building 502.

3.2 One new category 6 NIPR drop will go into room 114 of building 502. 19 new category 6 NIPR drops will go in room 113 of building 502.

3.3 The vendor will ensure new drops will be terminated at the user locations on SMCIS provided faceplates and at the available patch panel port.

3.4 The vendor will ensure all category 6 NIPR drops cabling are routed back to the communications closet in room 119 of building 502 and terminated on the existing patch panel available ports in NIPR cabinet 1 patch panel 2.

3.5 The vendor shall ensure all network cables are tested with passing test results provided in electronic format.

4.0 QUALIFICATIONS

Only authorized, vetted Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, military communications units (e.g., S6/G6, Signal Corps), or approved, contracted telecommunications vendors can install NIPR (Non-classified Internet Protocol Router) drops. These installations must adhere strictly to strict DoD and TIA telecommunications standards
