STATEMENT OF WORK

MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FOR BAR-97 EMISSIONS TEST EQUIPMENT

U. S POSTAL SERVICE

VEHICLE MAINTENANCE FACILITIES

STATE OF CALIFORNIA

SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED:

PREVENTIVE MAINTEANCE

The contractor will make four (4) Preventative Maintenance calls a year for each year the equipment is under contract. The contractor must give at least twenty-four (24) hours advance notice of when a technician is scheduled to perform preventative maintenance service.

· During the service visit the contractor’s technician will perform the following:

· Perform a visual inspection of the emission analyzer and its sampling system

· Clean all system filters and replace, as necessary

· Perform a functional inspection and replace any damaged or failed parts.

During two (2) of the Preventative Maintenance calls the contractor will perform the following service to the Dynamometer:

· Perform a visual inspection of the dynamometer

· Inspect all belts and drive gears and adjust as necessary

· Perform functional inspection of the equipment including calibration

REPAIR SERVICE

The contractor will provide at no extra charge repair service to the equipment at the Postal Service’s facility during working hours. (Normal working hours are defined as 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, excluding federal holidays.

The contractor will respond to all requests for repair services with sixteen (16) working hours or forty- eight (48) clock hours, whichever is less; Sundays and federal holidays excluded.

The contractor agrees that all repairs must be accomplished within eight (8) working hours or twenty-four (24) clock hours whichever is less, after the technician’s arrival and approval of the repairs have been received by an authorized individual (manager or supervisor). If repairs cannot be completed within this period the contractor will provide the location with a loaner unit at no change until the analyzer has been returned to good operating condition.

EMERGENCY SERVICE

The contractor agrees to provide Emergency Service upon request. Emergency service is defined as work, which is not performed during normal business hours, indicated herein.

WARRANTY

The contractor will warrant under normal use and care that replacement part(s) and component(s) installed during any Preventative Maintenance, Repair or Emergency Service visit will be free from defects for a 90 day period.

PARTS – USED/RECONDITIONED

Since the equipment currently in use by the USPS is being phased out in states other than California there is concern that parts support will become an issue. The USPS prefers new parts. However, where this is not possible, the contractor may have to installed used, salvaged or reconditioned parts to keep the equipment operational. If this becomes necessary the contractor MUST identify these parts as such on the invoice. (The USPS owned equipment has exceeded the manufacturers anticipated seven (7) year service life.)

COMPLIANCE

All repairs and maintenance performed on the emissions test equipment must comply with the standards established by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair or other applicable laws and regulations.
