About this file
This document is a Justification and Approval (J&A) for a brand-name purchase of a Waygate Technologies MVIQ6130RC-CFM Borescope Kit for the 134th Aerospace Propulsion Section of the Tennessee Air National Guard. The estimated value of the purchase is $76,739.62.
The 134th Aerospace Propulsion Section requires the Waygate Technologies borescope kit to perform critical maintenance inspections on their aviation assets. The Waygate Technologies borescope is the recommended tool used by General Electric to inspect and diagnose the Air Force and Navy's fleet of GE turbine engines, and all new airmen and technicians receive training on this specific model. Due to the unique qualifications of this brand-name item, the Air Force is justifying a sole-source procurement under FAR 6.302-1. A market survey was conducted, and no other known companies produce a compatible borescope kit. A solicitation will be posted on FBO to determine the fair and reasonable price.
