2. Para. #9 (p.19) Specification states “...any drain piping that is broken, collapsed or inoperable during installation shall be replaced including any piping that drains to the sewer.” The VA building contractor is installing new drain piping as part of the ongoing Laundry building renovation project for the equipment contractor to connect to.

Q1 –Please confirm if the repair or replacement of any drain piping [new/existing] as referred to above is applicable to this contract, and if not will be performed by others.

Answer – Confirmed. Any repair or replacement of any drain piping (new/existing) will be performed by others.

3. Para #3 (p.19) Specification states “Any changes to installed drains, ductwork, vents, electrical shall be the successful contractor’s responsibility.” During recent site visit, it was observed that there are no electrical panels installed throughout the production areas for equipment. All panels are located remote in the new electrical room addition. Additionally, it was determined that the newly installed 120v/208v/1ph electrical panels within the electrical room addition will likely be “full”.

Q1 –Will the VA provide additional 120v/1ph power subpanels in the laundry production and mechanical room areas to serve the new equipment system and install the new 4-Plex (120v) GFI receptacles required in the technical specifications for mechanic’s use at the various equipment locations, or is the successful offeror responsible to provide this additional power?
