Item #1: Ordering Data (Medium Production Thermal Fluid Flatwork Ironer) Question 1:
The specification calls for a waxing alarm to be included. The requirement and frequency for waxing should be site process driven to match up with operators break periods so as not to be disruptive to production operations. As such, would an ironer with a waxing program be acceptable in lieu of a waxing alarm?
Answer: Yes Question 2: When should as-built drawings be submitted?
Answer: According to Section B.4 LIST OF DELIVERABLES (A) (“Provided within 45 days after award”) of the solicitation, “Contractor will provide final as built drawings at completion of project in AutoCAD electronic format (latest Edition) to the COR.” Therefore, the “as-built” drawings shall be provided at the end of the project.
Please note that B.4 List of Deliverables (A) also states: The contractor is responsible for visiting the site of installation, surveying power and other utility requirements, room dimensions and other physical characteristics of the room necessary for proper room layout and providing the COR with three (3) complete layout plans and descriptive literature of all equipment. The drawings shall be ¼ inch scale drawings of layout of the textile care processing equipment offered. Drawings shall include adjacent equipment to show that equipment offered will fit into the location or space available. These drawings must be provided within 45 days after award. These drawings must be approved by the facility prior to equipment delivery, within 45 days after award. Drawings that have been approved turn into the as-built drawings that are due at the end of the project.
Question 3. Section E.2 of the Submittal Instructions was omitted in Amendment 2, please clarify if the Textile Care Processing Equipment Layout Drawings are required for the technical proposal.
