San Diego Water Leak Damage Remediation – 3rd Floor

36E77619B0019

Technical Questions Tracker

9/4/2019

1) Please provide a Haz Mat report for areas where work might occur.

a. See attached report.

2) In reviewing the plumbing drawings, I see that they show the sanitary waste piping as being run on the third floor. See drawings PS101, PS102, PS103, PS104.

Should the piping really be installed in the 2nd floor interstitial space?

If YES, will the abatement be done to make the space safe for plumbers?

A: Sanitary waste piping is shown on the floor plans showing the fixtures. This piping must be sloped in the direction of flow therefore the majority of this piping must be installed below the 3rd floor or in the 2nd floor interstitial space. The 2nd floor interstitial space is a hazardous area and requires appropriate PPE including but not limited to respirators.

D.Harper 2019 Sept 4th, 9/11/2019

A. Please provide a mfg/model number or specification for the patient head walls. Amico is the basis of design, In the Hemodialysis areas, the Futurus wall panel system was the basis of design

B. Arjo is listed as the basis of design for the patient lifts. Which Arjo patient lift is the basis of design? They have several to offer. Maxi sky 2, Attached are the cut sheets of the basis of design for the patient lift system. These drawings serve as the San Diego VAMC facility standard.

Michael Degnan 2019, 9/13

C. What is the maximum weight capacity the lift needs to be? 600 lbs for patient and 750 lbs min.

structure capacity, Michael Degnan 2019, 9/13

Loading and unloading to be done from the Loading Bay directly to the elevators. Contractors to protect tile flooring in front of elevators and keep elevators clean. All deliveries to be done prior to 7:30 AM and construction waste after 4:30 pm. VA will provide an office for the contractor that will be near the project, laydown yards are limited, dumpsters will be provided for general trash, Haz Mat debris to be followed in the specs. Michael Degnan 2019, 9/13

G. Will the government accept the use of the industry leading Procore Project Management software as the primary submittal and data tracking tool for this project? Yes, Michael Degnan 2019, 9/13
