About this file

This document is a Justification and Approval Notice for a sole-source contract by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Acquisition Center. The VA intends to award a $150 million contract to Oticon, Inc. for customized hearing aid parts and accessories to support eligible veterans and Department of Defense members, with a planned award date of August 8, 2025. The procurement is being conducted under NAICS code 334510 with a size standard of 1,250 employees, and is justified as a single-source procurement because hearing aid parts and accessories are proprietary to each manufacturer.

The solicitation is not a competitive proposal request, and Oticon will be the sole contractor. Interested parties may submit capability statements within 30 days of the announcement to Contract Specialist Bradley Geghan via email. The primary objectives include providing national clinical availability of hearing aid parts and accessories, ensuring compliant ordering processes, and standardizing pricing across the VA enterprise. The VA retains sole discretion to determine whether to compete the proposed contract based on received responses.
