About this file

This document is a Justification and Approval Notice for a sole-source contract issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Acquisition Center. The VA intends to award a $150 million contract to GN Hearing Care Corporation for customized (prescription) hearing aid parts and accessories to support eligible veterans and Department of Defense (DoD) members. The procurement is being conducted under NAICS code 334510 with a size standard of 1,250 employees, and will provide national clinical availability and standardized pricing for hearing aid parts and accessories across the VA enterprise.

The contract will be awarded on a single-source basis using FAR subpart 6.302-1, which allows for procurement from only one responsible source. The VA has determined that hearing aid parts and accessories are proprietary to each manufacturer, justifying the sole-source approach. Interested parties may submit capability statements to Contract Specialist Bradley Geghan within 30 days of the notice's publication, with the VA retaining sole discretion on whether to compete the proposed contract. The contract is scheduled to be awarded on July 8, 2025, to GN Hearing Care Corporation, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
