QUESTION GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
1. Would it be acceptable to include one resume for a licensed engineer which would cover the both the Mechanical, and Plumbing Engineering Disciplines?
Yes. Make sure to label the resume as covering both requirements for a mechanical engineer and plumbing engineer.
2. The RFQ states “A PPQ obtained for another SF 330 submission may be submitted for this project.” May a previously collected PPQ still be used if it is not the same form as the one provided?
Yes.
3. It appears that the preliminary design was completed already by another firm. Does this have any weight on the selection of A/E firm for this RFQ?
No. Preliminary design was not performed by an A/E firm, but MTVA.
4. Many reference standards are not the most current.
Would it be correct to assume that the most current VA design guides for HVAC, Plumbing, IBC, NFPA will be used in the design of this project?
Yes.
5. Is the ECC updated to reflect 2024 construction costs? The drawings show this was designed back in 2014. Was the estimate reflecting 2014 costs or 2024 costs?
Estimated Cost of Construction is current.
6. Our team offers in-house commissioning. Is this in conflict with the solicitation notice? If so, we have an independent third party that our engineering firm works with. Is this acceptable to the solicitation notice if in-house is not allowed?
In accordance with the RFQ and VA Specification Section 01 91 00 GENERAL COMMISSSIONING REQUIREMENTS, the A/E should be providing a third party CxA.
