Answers to Vendor Submitted Questions

What kind of hookup does the 30-yard compactor dumpster (owned by GL-CMOP) have?

It is described as a Palletized Loading System that pulls the dumpster onto a truck bed with a cable system.

Will separated recyclables, including cardboard, plastic film, mixed paper, etc., be compacted before being placed on pallets, or will they be piled loose onto pallets?

Bottles, plastic wrap films, and paper are in Gaylord boxes on pallets and are not compacted. Cardboard is compacted, banded, and set on pallets.

If the material is loose, will it be loaded into Gaylord boxes, which themselves are on pallets?

Any loose material should be in Gaylords on pallets.

Which specific materials will be collected as bales, and which materials will be on pallets?

Cardboard is banded in bales and placed on pallets. All materials are on pallets.

Can you please confirm the location of the compactor on the VA CMOP property so that our employees can survey the equipment to ensure our trucks are capable of hauling it?

The compactor is located in the CMOP building 37, next to the cold chain processing area, with access to covered docks 18 and 19.

Will remittance payments be expected for the palletized material and the two 30-yard dumpsters?

Yes, for recyclables in these configurations.

Is the receiver box, which is attached to the waste compactor, also government-owned, or does the vendor need to provide the receiver box?

Yes, the receiver box is government-owned, and the vendor does not need to provide a receiver box.

Can you please provide vendors with photos of the PETE, HDPE, PVC, and PP?

The recyclable bottles come in different types of plastics within the recycling range of 1 to 5. The CMOP produces a mixed assortment of these bottles, which are combined on a pallet in a Gaylord. The polypropylene is in the form of (PP) bags. Photos are attached below.
