About this file
This is a Sources Sought announcement for fire system repair and maintenance services at the Department of Veterans Affairs Black Hills Healthcare System in Hot Springs, South Dakota. The VA is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of performing routine repair and maintenance work on the Fire Suppression systems located in Building 3 and Building 20 at the Hot Springs VA Medical Center. Interested vendors must submit their organization information, proof of capability, socio-economic category classification, and responses to three specific questions regarding government contract availability, subcontracting plans, and work percentages by August 20th, 2026, via email to Scott.Jensen3@va.gov. This announcement is pre-solicitation in nature and will not result in contract awards; it is exclusively for vendor identification and capability assessment purposes.
Vendors are required to address whether their organization holds existing government contracts such as Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) agreements with the General Services Administration or other vehicles that could be leveraged for this work, and to disclose any anticipated subcontracting with percentage breakdowns by task. The solicitation indicates that subsequent formal solicitations may include small business set-asides, in which case limitations on subcontracting under FAR 52.219-14 or VAAR 852.219-75 could apply depending on the designation (Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business). Only emailed responses will be accepted, and failure to answer the specified questions may impact the government's acquisition strategy and vendor consideration for future formal solicitation phases.
