The address for service for the contract is: Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Health Care System, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis MN 55417.

There will be a site visit on 1/7/26 at 10:00 AM Central Time. Meet at the Outpatient Entrance of Bldg 70 Main Hospital.

1. Introduction:

a. The contractor shall perform preventative maintenance services (see paragraph 2 below for description) for each generator at the indicated interval in table below:

b. The contractor shall provide certified Caterpillar service technicians capable of completing all services. A Caterpillar certified training certificate must be provided for each service technician performing work.

c. The contractor shall only use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and products specifically designed for each piece of equipment.

d. The contractor is responsible for the proper disposal of all hazardous materials and petroleum products generated from all services. Items will be disposed of by contractors in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

2. Description of services recommended from the OEM:

Level 1: Perform Comprehensive 64-point inspection of engine and generator.

Level 2: Perform Comprehensive 67-point inspection of engine and generator, Replace engine oil, oil filters and fuel filters.

Level 3: Cooling system maintenance and fluid replacement (includes belt replacement).

Level 6: Valve train adjustment in accordance with appropriate service manual

3. Working hours:

a. Anticipated hours of work will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm Central Time. Additional hours must be coordinated through the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). Work will not be performed on weekends or federal holidays.

4. Deliverables:

a. Comprehensive service report for each service performed.

5. Safety:

a. The contractor is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment for their employees as well as the MVAHACS Staff. Work areas will be kept cleaned throughout the day and all trash and demolished materials properly disposed of daily.

b. Appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment will be worn while performing work on the VA Campus.

6. Security:

a. Contractor personnel need to obtain a vendor’s badge from VA Security located at the outpatient entrance security desk. A valid government issued form of identification will be required to receive a badge. A charge of $25 will be assessed for any badges that are not returned at the completion of the project.

b. Contractor’s Technicians are required to check in with the COR upon arrival at facility to obtain access and any additional instructions, task explanations and project location information. Daily performance log sheets are required to be submitted to the COR daily.
