About this file
This document is an amendment to a previous combined solicitation for Nephrology Providers for the VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS). The solicitation number is 36C26325R0005, with a new period of performance from 3/1/25 to 2/28/26 with 4 option years.
The solicitation is for a stand-alone contract for nephrology services, as the VA currently does not have any nephrologists on staff. The contractor is expected to provide inpatient and outpatient nephrology care, including dialysis services. The solicitation is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBC). The response is due on 12/3/2024 by 12:00 PM Central Time. The contracting office is located in Coralville, IA. The incumbent contractor has over 10 providers on staff currently. The on-boarding and security clearance process takes approximately 3 months total. Contractors may be called back to the facility 6-7 times per month and can bill for all call and call-back hours. The volume is estimated at 10-20 outpatients per 4-hour shift. Physician Assistants are considered acceptable in lieu of Nurse Practitioners. Dialysis equipment and support staff are provided on-site.
