About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for patient lift maintenance services. The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 23 is seeking offers for maintenance and repair services for patient lifts at the Minneapolis VAMC. The amendment provides responses to vendor questions, clarifying that all deficiencies identified in the last inspection have been completed, annual inspections and preventative maintenance will be conducted along with load testing, and lifts that fail throughout the year outside of inspections will require additional visits for repairs. The opportunity is set aside for veteran-owned small businesses. Offers are due by December 8, 2022.

Vendor Questions (in bold) and Answers (in red)
a. When was the fleet last inspected? Have repairs that were identified during the last inspection been completed?
All deficiencies identified during the March-May 2022 inspection have been completed
b. We would like clarification of the cycle for PMs and Service. Is the cycle: Inspections/PMs will be conducted annually along with load test. Complete PMs, ID repairs during PM, return once a year for repairs? Or Once a year.
Lifts that fail throughout the year will need to be repaired. Contractor would need to make an additional visit to perform repairs/replace parts. If a lift fails later in the year, it will need to be repaired. A return visit would be required. This may occur multiple times throughout the year. This is not considered an emergency service
c. If yes to b – would the “return as needed” part of the scenario be considered an Emergency Repair?
No
