Questions and Answers
1. Question: Is this a new requirement, or is there an incumbent contractor? If existing, can you provide the contractor and award amount?
Response: The contract number for these services is VA263-17-C-0111. Additional information regarding the contract can be found at FPDS-NG.
2. Question: Schneider Electric offers multiple versions of the Advantage Ultra Service Plan, these are dependent on the kVA Size of the Symmetra PX. Can the VA either provide the kVA size of the UPS, or provide the Schneider part number (i.e. WADVULTRA-PX-36) so vendors can quote the correct plan?
Response: 40KV PN: SYCF40KF
3. Question: Schneider Electric warranty services are provided based on serial numbers of equipment to be covered. Please provide the asset/equipment list with serial numbers associated with the line items in the solicitation so proper services can be quoted.
Response:
Main UPS unit: PD1043160036
KVM Switch: 4A1611A80039 4A1502A01445 4A1611A80036 4A1502A01451
KVM Monitor: 1A1048000235 4A1715A30046
NQ0724006504
NQ0616010167
4. Question: Please confirm the pricing response should be for one year only and that the VA will have the option of extending the contract for years 2 and 3 if they so choose.
Response: The offer needs to include pricing for the base year and option years 2 and 3.
5. Question: Is it required for the contractor to be on site daily? If not, would the contractor be provided with advance notice of being on site? Is the contractor allowed to include travel expense within our quote? Are virtual setups or conferences allowed?
Response: No, the contractor would not be on site daily. The contractor would schedule Schneider Electric to be onsite only for preventative maintenance and repairs. The PM schedule is coordinated by the contractor in advance (during our normal PM schedule and scheduled with VAMC Biomed dept).
VAMC Biomed performs daily checks on the UPS. If conferences are needed, a teleconference would be fine. Please review the Statement of Work. All work must be provided by Schneider Electric as
Schneider Electric is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). For the current contract, the contractor has not needed to visit the site, only Schneider Electric.
6. Question: Who would vendors contact to schedule a site visit?
Response: Richard Bahlmann at 515-699-5999 x26042 or richard.bahlmann@va.gov. As a reminder, all work must be provided by Schneider Electric as Schneider Electric is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
