Questions and Answers

1. Question: Is one lump sum price for the entirety of the effort for the base year (and for subsequent Option Years) included in Line Items 0001, 1001, 2001, 3001 and 4001? Does this include the Kitchen Hood and Fire Extinguisher Maintenance in Sioux Falls and Wagner?

Response: Yes, Line Items 0001, 1001, 2001, 3001 and 4001 include the entirety of the effort for each year (the base and option years). Yes, this includes the Kitchen Hood and Fire Extinguisher Maintenance in Sioux Falls and Wagner. The Government determines the structure of the line items to best suit the requirement.

2. Question: - How is Line Item 0002 to be priced and evaluated?

Response: Please refer to the Request for Quote (RFQ), Parts for Repairs on page 15. Line Items 0002, 1002, 2002, 3002 and 4002 for Parts for Repairs will not be priced on your offer.

3. Question: Is the contractor required to drive to Wagner monthly to do the monthly inspection for the three or four FX there?

Response: Yes, this is stated on page 9 in the RFQ. This can be completed by the contractor or a subcontractor as they see appropriate.

4. Question: Under Paragraph #1 – it states, “Contractor shall provide two additional scanners for VHA HCS Use.” What does this mean?

Response: The scanner requirement is being deleted from the Statement of Work (SOW). The updated SOW will be attached to this Amendment.

5. Question: It appears the Monthly Fire Extinguisher inspections are required at the Wagner location as well as the Sioux Falls VA location.

Response: Yes, this is correct.

6. Question: Section 2. F. “Cleaning of grease filters and any baffles found in the kitchen hoods.” Will the contractor be allowed to use VA equipment in this process (sinks, dishwashers, other equipment and supplies on site)?

Response: Complete filter and baffle cleaning in each hood is required as listed in the SOW. There is no guarantee that onsite cleaning resources will be available.

7. Question: Will the contractor be required to remove the filters from the site to perform this task?

Response: Bid contract as necessary to provide services as listed in the SOW. Contractor may remove filters from the site to perform services after coordination with the technical representative. Contractor shall have filters and baffles cleaned in a two-hour timeframe coordinated directly with the service line and the technical representative of the contract. This is to be completed twice a year at inspection intervals by the contractor per the SOW.

8. Question: Will over all hood cleaning services be conducted separately by a hood cleaning professional?

Response: Grease duct shall be cleaned by a separate contractor.

9. Question: New buildings to be added in 2022 and 2024 are referenced. Are contractors to consider these in our pricing? Are contractors to factor these locations into the overall pricing for those years?

Response: Yes, the new buildings are included in the quantity of 500 extinguishers listed in the SOW. If the 500 extinguishers were exceeded, the contractor would be able to work an equitable adjustment with the contracting officer.
