Questions and Answers

1. Question: What are the expected totals man hours expected each month to provide the pest services to all areas outlined within the scope of service?

Response: The estimated number of hours per month would be 20-30 hours for regular servicing and maintenance at Sioux Falls and approximately 6-10 hours per month at the Wagner CBOC Clinic.

2. Question: How many after hours service requests have there been in the past 12 months?

Response: Approximately 50 in the past 12 months. Some of these after hours requests were for bed bugs.

3. Question: How many bed bug service requests have there been in the past 12 months?

Response: Approximately 30-40 in the past 12 months.

4. Question: Who is the current pest vendor? Orkin

Response: Orkin

5. Question: Does the government know the current number of Fly Lights present and the sites located? Will these lights be required to be replaced or will the new contractor just take on maintenance?

Response: The lights will need to be replaced if a new vendor receives the bid. The technical expert is not sure of the exact number of lights that are in place currently. The Contractor will need to provide how many insect lamps will be necessary and where they will be located and let the technical expert know.

6. Question: Has any of the scope of service changed from this Solicitation compared to that of the last awarded contract?

Response: The technical expert has added service to the Wagner CBOC clinic. The technical expert also increased the number of times the exterior of the buildings are treated from 1 to 3 times annually.

7. Question: Can the government verify if the Wanger CBOC has a monthly service frequency as standard with other VA CBOC throughout the United States or is it weekly as outlined within the SOW.

Response: The technical expert is changing the weekly services for the Wagner CBOC to monthly.

8. Question: Regarding Technical Factor 1: Can the government define what "ASHRAE" standards means?

Response: This was a typo, the correct Technical Factor 1 is below and attached to this Amendment.

Technical Factor 1 Must meet the following qualifications. The contractor must provide Commercial Pesticide Applicator certification and verify the services will be provided onsite by a licensed/certified Pest Control Operator that has experience providing Pest Control Services at a Health Care setting.
