Text version

1. We would like to confirm that the scope requirement for manpower is, VAGLAHS requires 3 men full-time on campus 8 hours per day per man Monday through Friday? VA Sepulveda, requires 1 man full-time on campus 8 hours per day per man Monday through Friday? Combined 160 hours per week minimum, not including after hour emergency calls. After hour calls are included.

2. How many after hour emergency calls were required over the last 12 months?

3. Weed abatement and ornamental pest management has been added to this solicitation. Could you please elaborate what the scope of service? Is it limited to sidewalks and parking lots. VA does have full time landscape services at each site, can we assume they are handling weeds in the landscaped areas, and we are required to maintain sidewalks and asphalt areas?

4. Past contracts have stated how many acres are to be treated for gophers at each site. Could you please forward that information?

5. Under qualifications, you state that a Branch 2 and 3 plus a wildlife trappers license is required. With the gopher control and the weed abatement, California requires a Qualified Applicators license, Class B, Landscape Maintenance and Class C, right of way. Could you please confirm the requirement.

6. Based on the scope, the incumbent will be removing 245 Fly Lights. Will 245 Fly Lights be expected to be replaced and installed by the new contractor at their expense within the 1st month of service?

7. RFQ's for projects of this caliber normally have a past performance requirement. I do not see one. Is there one? This is a new requirement for a new contractor so past performance does not apply.

8. How many emergency bed bug calls per month? Upon request.

9. We can easily quantify the cost of maintaining the existing bird deterrent net. There is absolutely no way for us to quantify how to add in pricing for a new net. Those services could range from a couple thousand to a couple hundred thousand dollars per location. If that needs to be added to the cost, we will need a list of locations to inspect prior to the bid date.

10. There is no way to quantify monthly cost for termite fumigation. Fumigation is done by cubic feet of gas needed to exterminate the population. you have structures that range from a couple hundred square feet to hundreds of thousands of square feet. Standard process for bids that want a price for fumigation would be to ask for a cubic foot rate. Can we request either a change in the pricing structure, or get a list of buildings you plan on fumigating so we can measure the cubic feet?
