Question 1
Specs call for new ADA compliant ramp with cross walk connecting to existing walkway & blue reflector into roadway in line with new hydrant replacement. There is approximately 45 l/f of damaged asphalt that needs to be repaired/ patch back to install proper reflectors and mark pathway.
A: The road is already contracted to be repaved after the completion of the major construction projects in the future. Current roadway is sufficient for marker placement.
Question 2
With regard to the walkway/ sidewalk is contractor responsible for any base and if so how thick (sand or rock).
A: Current subbase is sufficient for placement. Currently we have lifting from pre-existing trees that have already been removed. Some root removal and grading in those locations will be necessary to establish proper elevations. 4” aggregate compacted subgrade may be required in those locations for repair.
