This is a Standard Form 1449 Solicitation/Contract/Order for Commercial Products and Services issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Southern Nevada Healthcare System for the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System Clinical Laboratory Microbiological System.
The solicitation requests quotes for a comprehensive clinical laboratory microbiological system for organism identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing, including instruments, reagents, standards, controls, supplies, consumables, and maintenance services. All items must be new, state-of-the-art, FDA-approved equipment with no remanufactured or discontinued models accepted. Pricing shall be submitted on a Cost Per Reportable Result (CPRR) basis including all equipment usage, consumables, maintenance (preventive and emergency), training, delivery, and installation at no additional government cost. The base period of performance runs September 15, 2026 through September 14, 2027. Questions are due by August 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM MDT, with final quotations due August 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM MDT. The solicitation incorporates multiple FAR clauses, VA-specific information security and privacy requirements, and includes detailed technical specifications requiring FDA-approved automated identification and antimicrobial susceptibility systems capable of performing accurate testing on aerobic, facultative, fastidious, anaerobic organisms, and yeasts in compliance with CLIA, CLSI, CAP, and Joint Commission standards.
