X X X 662-18-3-6435-0225 X The purpose of this amendment is to post responses to request for information (RFI).

All other terms and conditions shall remain unchanged.

Charee Harris Contract Specialist Question 1 - Please confirm the VA will provide egress route information, fire extinguisher/pull alarm locations, etc. for the vendor to incorporate into each evacuation map. As a signage vendor, we cannot determine egress routes but can make the plans based on the information from a Life Safety professional.

Answer 1 – 1.a. Vendor is to survey the campus facilities physically and certify having done so for all fire alarm locations and not rely explicitly on any engineering drawings without physically locating alarms.

1.b. Vendor is to survey the campus facilities physically and certify having done so for all fire extinguisher locations. No physical map exists for locations throughout campus.

1.c. SFVAMC will not provide a Life Safety Specialist to ensure compliance with applicable state life safety codes to determine best egress routes. Vendor will meet with SFVAMC officials to review egress routes before finalization.

Question 2 - Page 3 of the Statement of Work provides three “standard mounting methods”. For pricing purposes, which method shall we use? There is a significant cost difference between taping signs to the wall and installing them with mechanical fasteners.

Answer 2 – 2.a. Larger evacuation plan signage will need mechanical fastening. Vendor to follow any applicable specifications for mounting including but not limited to VA Interior Design specifications.

2.b. Smaller egress route signage will most likely use tape. Vendor to follow any applicable specifications for mounting including but not limited to VA Interior Design specifications.

Question 3 - Is there a concept drawing for the desired Evacuation Plan? What is the overall size of the Evacuation Plan? Materials are provided but information such as if the sign is one larger pocket or has a permeant header panel with information and a pocket below, etc. is unclear and changes the cost.

Answer 3 – 3.a. There is no concept drawing for desired evacuation plan.

3.b. Overall size is 18 inches by 18 inches or per California code specifications.

3.c. SFVAMC is not providing any materials; signage uniform of one pocket type.

Question 4- Is there a concept drawing for the desired Egress Sign? What is the overall size of the Egress Sign? Is the copy / message on an insert, permanently put on the material or in raised characters and braille?

Answer 4 - 4. No concept drawing for Egress Signs. Vendor to follow code compliance for copy / message on any insert, however, there is no raised lettering or braille type finish.

Question 5 - The 1449 box 10 says this solicitation is set aside for small business. Section 20 of the 1449 states it is 100% set aside for SDVOSB. What set aside applies to this solicitation?

Answer 5 – This requirement is 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, block 10 is hereby changed to reflect.

Question 6 - Is site visit attendance required?

Answer 6 - Answer: No, we cannot make site visits mandatory.

Question 7 – Can a letter of reference be used instead of the past performance questionnaire.

Answer 7 – Yes, as long as we can confirm the information.
