About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the VA Puget Sound Health Care System Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service to gather vendor input on a histology staining workflow system. The VA seeks a comprehensive integrated solution comprising two immunohistochemistry (IHC) stainers, two in-situ hybridization (ISH) immunostainers, two special stainers, and a specimen tracking system. The system must feature automated stainers capable of tracking and labeling slides, with the tracking component promoting proper specimen identification, auditing workflow processes to identify improvement areas, reducing errors, enhancing patient safety, providing chain of custody documentation, and monitoring productivity. All system components must communicate and operate cohesively to track the entire workflow.
The solution must demonstrate compatibility with the VA's existing IT infrastructure, specifically VISTA and/or Cerner electronic health record systems, as well as accommodate future electronic health record systems the VA may acquire. The system must also integrate with Data Innovations middleware. This pre-solicitation RFI is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 20 (VA Puget Sound Health Care System) under Solicitation Number 36C26027Q0058. The contract will be structured on a cost per reportable result basis for the purchase of immunohistochemistry reagents and related laboratory testing services.
