DESCRIPTION

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Price Order with the large business Medtronic USA Inc. The procurement is for a Bravo Capsule pH System, software, and service plan. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339112. The Bravo Capsule pH System is used to implant a capsule in the esophagus, and unlike any other system of this kind, can record for up to 96 hours. The capsule’s proprietary chip and the system’s software wirelessly transmit data to a recorder. The patient is able to continue with Activities of Daily Living during this time. The service plan is available only through the OEM, Medtronic. Because of its unique abilities, and the OEM requirement that the service plan be purchased through them directly, this procurement is limited to one source in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) Soliciting from a Single Source, as no other supplies will satisfy the Agency’s requirement. The anticipated award date: April 17, 2023.

This requirement is for:

Department of Veterans Affairs Roseburg VA Medical Center 913 NW Garden Valley Blvd Roseburg, OR 97470

This notice satisfies the requirement at FAR 5.201(b)(1), to publicize the proposed contract action. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation will be made available. Any responses received will only be considered for the purpose of determining the marketplace for future procurements. The Government will not pay for information submitted. This will be the only notice of the Government’s intent to solicit, negotiate, and award to one source to satisfy this requirement.
