Clarification to questions received for Solicitation 36C26022Q0072:

1. Question: Will Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center be needing a medical director to oversee the CLIA license?

a. Answer: The Contractor laboratory must comply with all requirements for certification and licensing under JC, CLIA, and CAP standards. Please refer to the SOW, sections 9 b and c.

2. Question: Do you have a frozen section room onsite?

a. Answer: No. The Contractor will be responsible to transport samples immediately if the need arises, to include staging a courier during certain procedures if necessary.

3. Question: What does prep-op and post-op surgical pathology noting mean or look like?

a. Answer: This is a common report that shows the discrepancy of a pre-operation (pre-op) diagnosis vs the actual diagnosis after operation (post-op).

4. Question: In the Statement of Work (B.2), section 2.a.iii-Specific Tasks, it states that Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine (SNOMED) is to be noted on each pathology report.

a. Answer: Contractor outbound interface must be setup/configured to send SNOMED coding.

5. Question: In the Statement of Work (B.2), section 3.a-Electronic Interface states, “Electronic interface includes HL7 discrete financial transaction for CPT coding of cases and HLZ to supply imbedded document ability.” Is this about DFT type HL7 messages?

a. Answer: Yes, DFT is discrete financial transactions, for CPT coding.

6. Question: Who currently oversees/performs the work?

a. Answer: The incumbent vendor is INCYTE PATHOLOGY, P.S., 13103 E MANSFIELD AVE, SPOKANE VALLEY, WA, 99216.
