QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. Regarding testing volume and scope, is the contractor expected to perform the physical slide preparation and scanning off-site at our own reference laboratory prior to running the AI analysis, or is the wet-lab processing and scanning occurring at the RMRVAMC facility with the AI applied post-scan?

ANSWER: The contractor is expected to perform the physical slide preparation and scanning off-site at their own reference laboratory prior to running the Prostate Cancer Testing Artificial Intelligence (AI).

2. Regarding equipment: the description states the contractor shall provide "all equipment, reagents, laboratory testing, analysis, and result interpretation". Does the required 'equipment' encompass Whole Slide Imaging (WSI) scanners, an Image Management System (IMS), and a Laboratory Information System (LIS) to support the Prostate AI, or does the VA already possess the digital pathology infrastructure to deploy the AI software?

ANSWER: Because the contractor is required to perform the physical slide preparation and scanning, the required equipment shall include Whole Slide Imaging (WSI) scanners, an Image Management System (IMS), and a Laboratory Information System (LIS) necessary to support the Prostate Cancer Testing Artificial Intelligence (AI).
