Responses to Questions for Solicitation #36C25921Q0013

1. Q: Due to the complex nature of this solicitation response, respectfully requesting a 14-day extension post the date of all questions being answered.

a. No, we will not extend the solicitation by 14 days. This is a recompete.

1. Q: Respectfully requesting the following tests be updated to show as referred instead of required as this is unduly restrictive: Anti CCP and IGF-1

a. The tests required are shown in section B.3 Schedule. These are the required tests needed.

1. Q: Is it preferred that the chemistry and immunoassay instruments be separate or integrated systems and what is the maximum number of instruments allowed? For clarification- is it required to have complete redundancy on all instrument with the minimal number of instruments being 2, or is more than 2 instruments allowed as long as they are redundant?

a. This is stated in the solicitation in statement of work in Section 4.1 and Technical Subfactor b.

1. Q: Please clarify the types of controls that are being requested. Is the lab currently using BioRad Unity?

a. Yes, BioRad Unity is being used. See statement of work, Section 4.14, not required to be provided by contractor.

1. Q: Please confirm the transport tubes currently being used in the lab.

a. Please refer to solicitation statement of work, section 4.

1. Q: Please clarify what the requirement is asking for in regards to a “sample filing system”.

a. In addition to storage, a tube can be tracked and recalled at any step on the automation line.

1. Q. Requirement: The response shall not exceed five (5) 8-1/2”x11” double-sided pages in Times New Roman font size 12, regardless of the method used to transmit the proposal package. Please provide clarification in regard to which sections of the RFP the page limit pertains to. Is this for the technical data response only?

a. This pertains to the technical data. Do not send 20 or 30 volumes of information on your equipment.

1. Q: Vendor is respectfully requesting current LIS data as well as what tests are included in the panels. We are request LIS data to show peak hour sample volume. Is it possible to update the menu to include a column for the respective panels?

a. We do not have LIS data to share. The annual estimated volumes of each test are listed in the Schedule. We use CMS approved panels. We are not willing to update the menu for panels, as all required tests are in the menu, regardless of the panels we use. The peak times for sample volume are between 1300-1500 and between 1730-1930 Monday thru Friday, when our clinic samples for our health system arrive.

1. Q: Are there any computer workstation that don’t work in the clinical chemistry lab- is additional space allotted for additional workstations?

a. No, all computers are currently in use and working. No, there is no additional space for additional workstations.

1. Q: On current systems, do current heat plenums have draw fans or negative pressure? Will heat plenums be required for each instrument? What is the total BTU output allowed for the proposed system?

a. No, the heat plenums do not have fans or negative pressure. It depends on the heat output of the instruments and if our Facilities Management team determined it is needed. The total BTU output allowed has not been determined.

1. Q: Can the compressed air and electrical races be moved?

a. They can be if necessary.

1. Q: Is a bulk loader requested or desired as a part of the RFP and if so is it preferred but not required?

a. This has not been specified in RFQ. The offeror shall let us know what they will be providing.

1. Q: Please provide a measurement from all sides of pillar to the “designated space’s boundary” for that side of pillar.

a. We do not have this information. The site visit was included as an opportunity for offerors to take measurements if they wanted to.
